Uitong: Salvation and Unification Through Healing


At the time of gaebyeok, Autumn God will arrive as the lethal qi of freezing frost to initiate the autumn harvest.
In accordance with the order of birth in spring and death in autumn, the universe will end the lives of humans, who have been cultivated during the Early Heaven, then revive them as autumn’s people.
When all things are killed in accordance with the principle of the universe’s creative change, how can you bring them back to life and help them enter the new world?

The one who makes this possible is the one who rules the cosmic principle: Sangjenim.
This salvation is the sacred work of saving and unifying (uitong) that will occur during the three-year turmoil of gaebyeok.
None will survive the coming times if they do not enter the dominion of uitong.
The work of carrying out uitong is an act of wielding the dao authority of God, who impels the harvest of autumn.

Dialogue 1

A: How will the gaebyeok unfold?
B: The gaebyeok will strike the world in three stages.
First, a war. A war unprecedented in its scale will break out.

A: When you say ‘First’, it must mean that there are some other events as well.
B: The outbreak of war will swiftly be followed by the second stage of gaebyeok: the disease. A mysterious disease that humanity has never seen before will arise and inevitably end the war. And the final stage of gaebyeok will shake the very earth, because it will entail the shift of the earth’s axis.

 

Dialogue 2
A: Before the catastrophic disease break out, smallpox will strike first, coming as a messenger of the mysterious disease.
B: Are you implying that the outbreak of smallpox in the future is a warning sign for the coming of the mysterious disease?

A: A final warning. Though the pangs of the mysterious disease will be devastating, it is a vital process to build the Later Heaven’s new world. Through the mysterious disease, all the ills of the past fifty thousand years under the Early Heaven will be cleansed.

After the Early Heaven of the cosmic spring and summer comes to an end, the Later Heaven of the cosmic autumn shall dawn, a time when all things will become mature, harmonious, and unified.
The coming of the Later Heaven is both cosmic providence and a necessity.
When the cosmic autumn is about to commence, all-encompassing changes will take place, overthrowing the framework and order of heaven and earth.
Such drastic changes in heaven and earth will befall humanity as rigorous tests and ordeals; and, since these changes are nature’s providence, human beings will not be able to avoid them.
Only after humans surmount the changes and accompanying ordeals will they be able to enter the Later Heaven’s world.
The overall changes that shall occur in the framework and order of heaven and earth at the dawn of the maturing autumn —these are gaebyeok.

A: Just imagine the framework of Sangjenim’s work of renewal concerning the spirits as an original document. What subsequently materializes in the human world is like a carbon copy of the original.
B: So everything that went on for the last 100 years is sort of a program that takes place according to Sangjenim’s work of renewal?

A: Yes. Everything that’s been happening around the world are the result of the manifestation of Sangjenim’s work of renewal. It perfectly manifests in the human world without even the slightest discrepancy.

 

Dialogue 2
A: Now do you understand what the work of renewal is? Any questions?
B: I have a question. If everything in the world are going according to Jeung-san Sangjenim’s program of His work of renewal, #why do we have to put any work in to our daily lives?

A: Sangjenim already established the framework for the tides of the coming world, but He entrusted the specific implementation of this framework to humans. #So it’s up to the people of today to complete the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth according to His cosmic design.

Sangjenim established a heavenly court of spirits by gathering all the spirits of people who had lived since the beginning of human history.

He decreed that this heavenly court will judge the matters of the past through impartial deliberations.

Based on this process, Sangjenim conducted the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth.

The Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth, through which Sangjenim laid the foundation of the coming world, can be separated into two themes.

The works of renewal for the destiny of the world charted the course of the world, while the works of renewal for the destiny of the dao established the path of development for Jeung San Do.

Sangjenim employed the embittered spirits in His work of renewal for world affairs.

He employed the spirits of failed revolutionaries in His work of renewal for dao affairs.

Dialogue 1
A: Everyone dies with bitterness and grief because very few people accomplish all that they have dreamed of in their lifetime. That's why heaven and earth are now crowded with the spirits holding grudges in their heart.
B: But isn’t it over when you die? I can’t believe humans don’t let go of this bitterness and grief stuff even after we die.

A: Well, whether you believe it or not, your spiritual body continues to exist and continues to hold the same grudge even after our physical body dies. Sangjenim performed the work of renewal to resolve all the bitterness and grief of humans and spirits to build the Later Heaven's paradise on earth.

 

Dialogue 2
A: Sangjenim assembled all the spirits and reorganized the spirit realm. The spirits, who had been prevented by others from fulfilling their wishes during their human lifetimes, would now be able to fulfill their wishes through Sangjenim’s work of renewal.
B: He must have worked with the spiritual beings in order not to create more bitterness and grief.

A: Exactly. Sangjenim performed his work of renewal by drawing upon deliberations of all the spirits of heaven and earth in a fair and impartial way. This work of renewal has been materializing as events in history for the last 100 years. All the spirits get to fulfill their desires as these historical events unfold.

In all countries and in all times during the Early Heaven, not a single person passed through this world without incurring bitterness and grief.

Spirits harboring bitterness and grief now fill heaven and earth.

In order to fundamentally correct this world so as to build a magnificent new world, the spirits must first be resolved of their bitterness and grief.

And so, Sangjenim conducted works of renewal for resolving the bitterness and grief of all spirits.

Sangjenim assembled all the spirits and reorganized the spirit realm;

planned the programs, the schedule, the timetable for the tides of the world;

and compelled the world to turn in accordance with this timetable.

This, Sangjenim named Cheonjigongsa: the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth.

Dialogue 1
A: What are the some of the basic rules that must be followed in Jeung San Do meditation?
B: Usually one would offer water bowls once in the morning and once in the evening on their personal altars at home. Then they offer the embracing-heaven-and-caressing-earth bow four times and a personal prayer. Then they chant the mantras.

A: Embracing-heaven-and-caressing-earth bow?
B: Yes. The embracing-heaven-and-caressing-earth bow is the correct and proper way to revere heaven and earth. It signifies the uniting of the virtues of heaven, earth, and humanity into one.

 

Dialogue 2
A: Why do you offer water bowls on the altars before we meditate?
B: Water signifies cleansing, purity, and the fount of life. And also, water serves as a medium that links you with Sangjenim during your prayer and meditation.

A: Is it a must to offer water before chanting?
B: It really depends on the circumstance you’re in. For example, when we chant mantras in a whisper or in our mind while driving, walking, or performing housework, we usually do not offer water.

When you chant a mantra, it is critical to keep your back upright and concentrate solely on the act of chanting.
The most important point in chanting a mantra is that you chant in a greatly awakened state.
At all times, your consciousness, your breathing, and the chanting sound should be as one.
You must not be distracted by anything— good or bad, beautiful or ugly.
You must steel yourself so that nothing tempts you.
Those who meditate should have a right mind.
If a person sitting down to meditate harbors petty thoughts or ulterior motives, it is better that they do not begin the meditation.

A: Taeeulju Mantra?
B: Yes. The Taeeulju Mantra is a sacred mantra revealed by Jeung-san Sangjenim. At this time of Autumn Gaebyeok, everyone must practice Taeeulju Mantra meditation to recover their inner nature and discover the source of their life.

 

Dialogue 2
A: How was the Taeeulju Mantra made?
B: The Taeeulju Mantra was completed through three stages. By adding hoom-chi hoom-chi to the beginning, Jeung-san Sangjenim brought the Taeeulju Mantra to completion.

A: Why was adding the hoom-chi hoom-chi important?
B: Because hoom-chi is the sound of calling out to the parents, heaven and earth. It is the sound of humanity calling out to God like a calf lowing to its mother. This complete version of the Taeeulju Mantra must be chanted to find your roots.
